Christian Life Ministries
Bringing Discipleship into Focus
Discipleship does not just happen. We make a decision to follow Christ. We make a decision to live according to God’s Word. And those who learn to pray fervently and effectually and who learn how to delve into the depths of God’s Word do so intentionally! CLM is about making an intentional decision to follow Jesus and grow in His grace and wisdom. The various discipleship opportunities that fall under the title of Christian Life Ministries are Life Development, Essentials of Discipleship, Women in the Word, The School of Prayer, The School of Missions & Evangelism, The School of Family Ministries & Counselling, Women’s Bible Studies, and Men’s Ministries.

Essentials of Discipleship
The mission of the Essentials program is to provide an intentional path to discipleship that is theologically sound, culturally relevant, and relationally genuine. It is a year-long program (resetting every Fall), that currently meets during the second service and coincides with the Life Development semester. Rather than many classes, it is one class with a curriculum based around the eight essentials of discipleship: Scripture, Prayer, Worship, Fellowship, Service, Ministry, Evangelism, and Stewardship. Registration is required and attendance is mandatory. For more information contact Pastor Scott at sfowler@sgtmail.org.
Life Development Classes
The Adult Life Development ministry offers a Bible-based curriculum to adults on Sunday’s and Wednesday nights. These electives span a wide range of subjects, not only specific to books of the Bible but associated topics for spiritual growth and development. Past classes include those designed to assist parents in raising teens, history of the early church, the life of Paul the apostle, workshop studies concerning the Christian in the workplace, and much more. Classes are offered in a traditional setting and in small groups and seminars as well, all designed specifically for the purpose of assisting Christians in their pursuit of knowledge and spiritual development in their walk with Christ.
Specialized Discipleship Opportunities
Many opportunities to grow in the Word and in fellowship with the body exist outside the official discipleship ministry of the church such as Monday Night Men’s Ministries, the Women’s Fellowship on Monday nights in the fall, Living in the Word women’s Bible study in the winter, MUMS (Mothers Uplifting Mothers Spiritually) on Tuesday mornings, Women in the Word on Thursday mornings, and The Journey. Just watch the church bulletin for these and more listings.
