The Spirit of God is saying to you, no matter what situation you're in, "Don't give up!" God wants to strengthen us in our heart and mind to finish what He's assigned us to do. To do this, we must make sure we remain in a conducive environment where we can hear His wonderful voice of determination and diligence. And this means staying in prayer and in the Word of God. When we do this consistently we will hear God's voice directing us and encouraging us to press on.

God is our Father, and He's promised to be a shield and an exceeding great reward to us. This is a promise of protection and provision. Through His power He wants us, as fathers in this world, to do the same. We accomplish this by knowing the Word of God and consistently depositing it in our families through our faithful example.

Jesus said, "if you love Me you will obey Me." When we obey God His blessing follows. Obedience also brings direction and strength from God into our lives. In fact, it is in our best interest to obey God because He always has our best interest at heart and will always care for us as we follow Him.

God is calling His people to be cheerful and generous in giving whenever He asks us. This includes giving our time, talents, abilities and resources. God wants these things to flow through us unencumbered, and not have our giving be a grudging obligation. In fact, we are designed to be generous - to exerpience seeing others blessed through our lives. All we need to do is to open our eyes and respond to the opportunities that are right in front of us.

The moment money, possessions and blessings take on a voice, and speak to us about who we are and what we should be doing, that's the moment we become controlled by them. Blessings are meant to serve us, not master us. Our sense of security and identity must come from God if we are to live stable lives. That's why Jesus exhorts us to, "seek first His kingdom." When we do this, everything we need is provided for us by our Father in heaven, who loves us and knows our needs.

Modern society is intoxicated with materialism. We mistakenly believe that our security, stability and identity are derived from our material possessions. God, however, doesn't want us to be bound this way. He'd rather we use the resources He gives us to fulfill His purposes. When we take this view, with a mind to be obediant, His grace can come upon us and enable us to succeed and prosper in the things we do.

Jesus spoke about material resources, and specifically money, more than any other topic in the New Testament. In our present culture, the emphasis is on getting as much as we can get. But in the Kingdom of God giving is the way that leads to increase. This is because the resources we receive from God are not just for ourselves, but for the benefit of others. As we learn to look at, and respond to, others' needs, God will bless us with material increase so that we can use His resources to accomplish His purposes.

We've each been allocated minutes, days and years of time. We can be very careful about the way we allocate our money. How about time -- how careful are we with the time we've been given? God wants us to "lay hold of," or take responsibility for, the time we've been given so that we can manage it with wisdom that comes from Him.

God has created us with emotions. The major problem is that our emotions need to be renewed and brought into line by developing the discipline of reading and applying the Word of God to our lives everyday. Self esteem is a something that's often discussed today. How we "manage" our self-image affects everything we do in life because our self-concept is rooted in the very core of our being. In some situations we may feel like "grasshoppers surronded by giants," and reckon ourselves incapable for the task at hand. But if we factor God into the equation, and remember what He's able to do through us, it can change our thinking and turn us into a giant in whatever situation we find ourselves.

While on the earth Jesus established only two ordinances: communion and water baptism. Through baptism He invites us to follow Him in making an outward sign of our dying to sin and being raised into a new mode of living that's empowered by His Spirit. Jesus was baptized, and that challenges all of us to be baptized as well. And when we are, we're identifying not just with Him, but also with His death, and with the new, empowering Life He brings.

If we understand the character of God, we'll understand that He loves us and wants us to be free. This causes us to be receptive to His commands, which aren't restrictive, but directive, enabling us to fulfill our destiny. His Light reveals everything about us, and leads us into His Life, which is the fulfillment of all He has for us as His children. When we learn to walk in God's Light, we can then experience His Life.

The number one problem that people deal with in day-to-day life is fear. We often hear fear's voice telling us what we can't do, what trials will overcome us, or how we'll fall into misfortune. But as a believer, you can respond with a greater, stronger, more developed voice. And that's the voice of faith -- not something that's shouted out, but something that comes from a deep conviction that God is with you. Faith is the warrior that overcomes fear.

God is looking for people who will press in and press on: press in to the purposes and resources He's provided, and press on through discouragements and problems to fulfill the call He's placed on each of us. When we do, God is willing to use us in the most amazing, and even miraculous ways.

The bible teaches that if we pray we won't enter into temptation. Everyone will be tempted from time to time, but if we pray we will be strengthened to not enter into tempation. Considering the destructive power of sin, this is a very important premise for believers to both understand and practice.

God wants to bless us, and He wants us to be a blessing to others. The imparting of divine blessing is when God declares to us, through His word and through fellowship with Him, who we are, why we're here, and what He wants to do through our lives. Our lives are like a cup that God fills with ability and resources, and it's through this flow of blessing that He enables us to be a blessing, and fulfill His purposes.

We live in a culture that emphasizes pleasing ourselves and satisfying our needs. God is not indifferent to the needs we have in this life. But His intention for us, if we are to have balanced and effective lives, is to not be focused on the things of this world, but rather to be focused on pleasing Him, who is best able to meet our needs and fully satisfy us.

God has ordained a very simple but profound truth: that if a person would give their life to Him, that He would dwell within them. This means that God's own life, and all that He is, can be seen and reflected through us. Moreover, because of His presense, we can be influenced by God on the inside, every day.
