Who is the ultimate teacher of your life? More than one who inspires or informs - who influences your life? Who shapes your values and cultivates your convictions? Who controls your present, rules your future and interprets your past? Who holds your heart and grips your thoughts? Who affects your attitude and motivates your actions? Who do you follow and obey? Who is your TEACHER?

Your feet reveal the true answer. In antiquity, devoted students were called disciples because they literally followed their teacher with their feet! The classroom was the road they traveled together. They lived life in the very footsteps of their teacher - their master.

Jesus was called the great Rabboni - the Teacher of truth. He was far more than a skilled communicator in a culture inundated with ideas; more than someone who could market concepts in the commerce of life. Jesus is the great Transformer, the great Emancipator, the ultimate Educator in the purest sense. His potent teachings transform lives and set captives free! His words are not fanciful, but life-imparting. He deposits His teachings, His truths into the hearts of men to shape their thinking and alter their actions. The teachings of Jesus are to be ingested and digested, not simply savored as dainty thoughts. Dealing with the teachings of Jesus is a sacred matter - transcending scholarship and invoking Lordship!

Let us make a daily decision to hear and obey the teachings of Jesus. We must be doers of His words - allowing them to influence the core of our convictions and the concrete expression of our actions. And when you are asked, "Who is your teacher?" may your resounding response be, "Jesus Christ, my great Rabboni, my beloved Master!"
