Adult Outreach Ministries

Each Christmas SGT volunteers contribute and deliver gifts of toys, clothing and food to families of incarcerated individuals. As we share the love of Christ, we are able to minister to more than 100 families materially and spiritually.

EE is a program to help Christians learn how to share the gospel effectively with their neighbors and friends. Training is held on Sunday mornings during the Sunday School hour. The teams visit homes in the community on Tuesday nights.

The Helping Hands group assists the deacons and deaconesses. They help meet some short-term physical needs of the church membership by visiting the sick or housebound, cooking and delivering meals or doing light housecleaning.

A volunteer team from SGT visits four local nursing homes each week. They bring a short message of encouragement from the Bible, some music, and conversation to folks at the Lutheran Center for the Aging, St. Catherine of Sienna Nursing Home, Nesconset Nursing Center and St. Johnland Adult Day Center.

Operation Compassion extends love and encouragement, when needed, through personal visits to hospitals and homes as well as through telephone calls. The group meets every 1st and 3rd Saturday in the church office from 9:30 a.m. till noon for a time of sharing and prayer.
